Landscape Install Foreman Job Description

Do you get fired-up to take a landscape design plan and bring it to life? It’s a powerful thing to know how to renovate an outdoor space from start to finish and make it truly amazing. That is what the BLD Landscape Install Foremen do, and we are looking to expand the team. 

We would love to talk to you if you have 3+ years’ experience in landscape installation and construction management with strong leadership skills and a solid work ethic. 

A BLD Landscape Install Foreman oversees the construction and installation of high-quality outdoor spaces and landscapes, transforming the ordinary into extraordinary. They need to be able to understand the design plans, work collaboratively with the Operations Manager, Project Manager, and Designer to devise a game plan for construction and execute on the vision. 

Primary responsibilities for a BLD Landscape Install Foreman include managing and training crew members, supervising the use of equipment, ensuring safety guidelines and protocols are followed, and completing projects in a timely/efficient manner at BLD quality standards.

This full-time position directly supervises 2-4 crew members and interacts with the BLD Management Team, vendors, subcontractors, and clients. It is a year-round job as we work on installation projects throughout the entire year (weather permitting during the winter) in addition to snow removal services.

Job Responsibilities

  • We believe in a team approach and working collaboratively! The BLD Landscape Install Foreman will work with the Operations Manager, Project Manager, and Designer to understand the objectives and pieces of each assigned project and develop a roadmap for project completion.

 

  • A BLD Landscape Install Foreman must clearly and effectively communicate with the entire team (management and crew), customers, and vendors, to ensure the project is completed seamlessly. Daily updates will be given to the Operations Manager prior to leaving a job site to keep everyone in the loop.

 

  • Organized: The BLD Landscape Install Foreman is responsible for devising a plan for their crew each day and leading them efficiently to meet daily project goals together as a team.

 

  • Problem Solver: Issues are going to come up, but how you deal with them matters. The BLD Landscape Install Foreman needs to be a problem solver, take ownership of a solution, and not point fingers.

 

  • Lead by Example: Provide training and leadership to all crew members, ensuring each is competent in their required skill set and accomplishing the work that needs to be done to finish the project ontime and to BLD quality standards.

 

  • Strong Work Ethic: The BLD Landscape Install Foreman, along with each crew member, is responsible for producing 40+ hours each per week on schedule.

 

  • Attention to Detail: The BLD Landscape Install Foreman is responsible for clocking in/out all crew members through LMN Time App, as well as assigning your crew’s tasks accurately.

 

  • Maintain and update project notes and photos daily through LMN Time.

 

  • The BLD Landscape Install Foreman needs to be comfortable using technology such as email and smartphone applications to access work schedules, send updates, and communicate with the rest of the BLD Team.

 

  • Responsible for the respectful use of and maintaining assigned work truck and equipment, supplies, and tools.

 

  • Preferred technical experience in stonework, irrigation, and paver installation.

 

 

Experience and Skills Needed Prior to Start

  • At least 3-years’ experience in landscape construction.
  • At least 2-years’ foreman/crew leader experience is required.

Landscape Install Crew Level 2 Job Description

BLD Maintenance Team Lead Job Description

If you have 2+ years’ experience in landscape maintenance paired with strong leadership skills and a solid work ethic, we would love to talk to you! 

As the seasons change throughout the spring, summer, and fall, the BLD Maintenance Lead will be prepared to lead their team through these changes and the varying types of work that need to be done. If you enjoy working outdoors, maintaining plants and grass, appreciate having a constant change of scenery and types of work to be accomplished, and know how to plan and lead a team, this job will be a good fit! 

During the spring and fall, most of our customers are looking to have their yards cleaned up and prepared for the next season. We are looking for a Maintenance Lead who knows how to trim and prune plants and bushes accordingly for the season, mow, trim and troubleshoot lawn issues, weed, and is detailed oriented when it comes to their work. During the summer months the maintenance team primarily focuses on mowing customers lawns and doing light weeding. 

The BLD Maintenance Lead will need to have excellent communication skills working directly with both the BLD Maintenance Scheduling Manager to gain insight to the customer’s request in addition to working directly with the customer regarding their specific needs and details. Training other maintenance team members on best practices and correct ways to work is a necessity. This is a fast-paced dynamic role!

This role will need to be able to get to the BLD shop on time each day and produce at least 40 hours of work each week during the spring, summer, and fall (overtime work is available). Snow removal work in the winter is also offered.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the quality of work completed by you and your team during all customer maintenance visits (seasonal cleanups and mowing).
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with BLD Maintenance Schedule Manager, maintenance team members, and customers. 
  • Will report daily to BLD owner with updates and communicate any challenges from the day to develop a plan. 
  • Responsible for working efficiently and accomplishing all tasks on project lists.

  • Must be able to plan week and timing for each cleanup and mowing schedule and bring all tools necessary to doing to work.

  • Must have plant, bush, and lawn knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot issues with these and trim and prune as needed for the season.
