Catherine has been passionate about design and horticulture since she was a child, helping her father in the garden and drawing flowers and trees on every piece of paper she held in her hand. She served in the U.S. Navy for 5 years and navigated warships around the world.
After graduating from Colorado State University with a B.S. in Environmental Horticulture and a concentration in Landscape Design and Contracting, she has spent the past 10 years honing her knowledge of all aspects of the landscape design/build process. She strongly believes in the importance of having expert construction knowledge in addition to being a creative designer to ensure that what is designed on paper can be built correctly. She project manages each of her installations, guiding the crews and her clients through the construction process to ensure the design vision is brought to life. Catherine has a passion for helping her clients transform their landscapes into their own personal sanctuary, and has been working with Boulder Landscape and Design since 2018.
Catherine truly enjoys building a relationship with her clients and having a hands-on approach to the design and installation process. She is well versed in hardscape design – fire elements, shade structures, outdoor kitchens and incorporating lighting design to tastefully showcase planting and hardscape elements. She also specializes in planting design, understanding the importance of sun/shade and water requirements and stresses the use of the right plant in the right place to ensure correct plant placement and longevity for each microclimate area of the project. In 2023 Boulder Landscape and Design was awarded the Gold award for Plant Design from the Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado for a residential project that was designed and managed by Catherine.
Using unity and balance, color, texture and form, her designs are customized to enhance the style, value, and year-round beauty of your home. Her passions outside of work include hiking, running, crafts of any kind and interior design as well as spending time with her husband and two dogs.
